J,

I can't tell much more than you already know. What questions do you have? Too bad about the extractor. Tom Heller, a forum member. "Lugerdoc" may have a replacement.

The grips are worn, but I've seen worse. Usually beechwood in 1917. Need better close-up pics of the mag. bottom, and slot side.

The holster looks like it would come back with some TLC.

I guess I was curious what some of the markings on it meant. And the value of gun and holster. I did read the FAQ's and saw that refinished guns and broken marked parts (extractor) diminish value, so I was curious what this might be worth with a replacement extractor.

I'll take a better pic of mag tomorrow.

Thanks

Well, you have a 'd' block gun. That's the letter under the serial number on the front of the frame. 10,000 to a block. The stampings on the rt receiver: First three are acceptance marks F(?) R, P ?? These are old eyes. The last to the rt is the proof marking, an Erfurt eagle. One on the barrel base too, and the left side of the breech block. Erfurt inspectors marked everything but the springs. that's all the little marks you see all over the place.

Reblued and replace parts, put it in the shooter category. Hard to put a value on it without having it in hand. Less than a thousand.

Here are better pictures of mag. You can see in next to last picture the "overspray" onto the side of the mag. Just seemed like an amateur job.

Looks like an aftermarket mag with an aluminium bottom that was spray painted to make it look like a bakelite bottom. Erfurts were issued with wood bottom mags.

It's not a real magazine.
