Nicest G-date I have ever seen Norm.

Dutch 02-03-2011 06:48 PM

Nice. Thanks for sharing.

Ron Wood 02-03-2011 07:08 PM

I'm with George. I don't believe I have ever seen a "for real" G-date as nice as that.

JTD 02-03-2011 07:18 PM

Norm, looks like the K date nick in the upper?

Railsplitter 02-05-2011 06:48 AM

Nice ... I mean real nice. Great photos too !!

Thor 02-05-2011 01:38 PM

Oh my golly, that G date is GORGEOUS, really stunning! JTD is right see the reciever nick as he calls it. Seen in K dates normally? I think Jan Still had one on his site a while back like that, but not in this superb condition.

FNorm 02-05-2011 02:04 PM

Well, Guys, I'm in totally new territory here. Educate me. Under 10X I see the...ummm sortta a line like the K's. Under the blue...I think(?) but the front edge also has a small scrape with some white showing. This is only what I saw until JTD pointed it out. This is an early 'A' block G, would they still have that K date nick? i.e. is that good or bad? The magazine was totally unexpected. A B90, 'A' block 267 number off. Also it is/was VERY clean. From a good collector I think.

PS: OH, and the grips are numbered inside. 5mm high.

Fantastic Piece, Thank You, I never thought that there could be one in this condition..

Alf.

Well...I'm feeling lucky. Next a K date 2nd variation. Same shape! YA think???

just curious, what value is place on somethig like this?

drbuster 02-27-2011 02:37 PM

This G date is indeed a fine luger. The markings are sharp and it all looks "right as rain"! This piece obviously sat in its holster or some other protected place for the duration. If Fred has a matching magazine and a 1935 dated holster (very rare), then you could be looking at a value of at least $3.5K and even north of $4K IMO.

drbuster 02-27-2011 02:39 PM

At least the magazine is CLOSE!!!

Hi Fred, That really is a superb G date, congratulations! It's interesting that I have a slightly later a block gun, but mine was inspected by Herr W154, not Herr B90. Best regards, Norm.

Douglas Jr. 03-02-2011 03:47 PM

Wonderful!

GerColctor 03-06-2011 06:55 PM

Fred

Very nice looking G Date. I also have a B 90 inspected model, serial 4229a, which is in the same block as yours. They must have been making them in that series with extra care, as mine is in similar condition.

drbuster - thanks for the price evaluation, as I have the 1935 dated holster, correct tool and matching mag. The Luger didn't come cheap, but it was worth it.
