What has happened to me? It used to be booze and ladies of dubious reputation. Now I'm drooling over Lugers. The other items look great to. Is that a Mod 1916 transitional police helmet? Where did the Police fit in with the military establishment? Was it with the SA prior to 37 (shouild heve still been Federal), the SS's police or the SD units under Himmler, military police under the Wehrmacht or just straight federal/state policemen? Great items, I'm just curious.

The background items are are just some German stuff I had near my desk. The right side is a Prussian picklehaub and the helmet behind the Luger is a civil police issue helmet complete with air vents. The grenade is just one of those Colector`s Armory jobs that I picked up at a garage sale. The civil police were not part of the SS or military as far as I know.

Food for thought......police using grenades. Where were they when I needed them most?

They used them for nightsticks. They are also great for opening locked cars...
