Passed one up today...your opinion.?
I went to local Gun Show here in Murfreesboro today....29 January.........found couple Lugers....one was Artillery and note said .."All matching except mag"...$2150........did take a look at a DWM Commercial.....no date on top.......Dealer explained it was a 1920s era Commercial and they didnt put dates on them..???...is that true..???....also had GERMANY stamped on front under barrel......he said it was "All matching and good condition". said wood bottom mag came with pistol but there was no # as they never stamped those."....I took close look....grips in horrible shape....chips out here and there....and really did not fit the Pistol very well at all......he wanted $750.00 for it.............just didnt look or sound right......whats your opinion guys...????.......I appreciate your input............Hans:confused::confused:

You got to know when to hold 'em...
Know when to fold 'em... Know when to walk away... and know when to run... :) |
Hard to give you an estimate without pictures, but both sound overpriced.
The commercial was most likely in 7.65 Luger caliber. In excellent original finish, all matching and excellent condition it might be worth his asking price. Marc |
1920 Commercial
Hi Marc Thanks for your reply...it wasnt in what I would consider "Good or Very Good " condition...more likely in the bottom of the "Good" range..what threw me off were the grips.. they just looked BAD...chipped and really didnt fit the pistol well at all..Ive got my sights set on DWM Lugers in the 1914-1918 range...and this one of course was undated....hate to think of what I would have done if it was dated 1914 then of course my bad mistake of not asking the caliber..cant believe i let that get by me....good lesson learned tho...Thanks again for your reply

Don't get too hungry. Wait until you get what you really want. They are out there! In the meantime read the FAQs on the New Collectors forum, and anything else you can find on Imperial lugers.
