Can You Answer This One??
Just how many barrel length were made? I stop counting!
|
Officially and this is off the top of my head;
3 5/8ths to 4 inches (plus or minus a bit) 4 3/4 in the 1906 version 6 inch navy 8 inch artillery carbine length (12 I think?) Then in commercial lengths, same as above, but the distributors would put on almost any size you requested, see early ads for that :) ed |
Missed one, 1923 Long Barrel Commercial

Kenyan page 204, 10 to 24 inches

It seemed in longer versions they had trouble with the action functioning, even the 11 &3/4" carbine lengths have an accelerator spring to help close the action. Lugers At Random by Charles Kenyon, pages 30 & 62.

How about the shortest barrel? Looks like Ralphs' 'seven shot prototype' 3 1/4 inch built by George Luger for His personal use

I think I have seen a couple of 2" models and dont forget the 32 and 380 Babys.
