1900 US Test Holster question

Does anyone have a handle on how many still exist?

Boy, I knew they would be rare and costly, but I did not think they would fall into the $2,000-$5,000 range. Best keep putting more cash into Luger account!

Bill..The price of these holsters starts with rarity. You can imagine that not many were made and pistols survive better than leather. Imperial Navy holsters are a dime a dozen comparing the numbers and they are not cheap.
An original U.S. Test holster that is in reasonable collecting condition is a rare and expensive thing.
Just keep looking!

Test Luger Takedown Tool
 

Readng in the few records contained in Fred Datigs.book the takedown tool was supplied with holster and I wondered wether they were unique or copies of the earlier design. What did the first one look like? Was the design patented. How did they remain the same for so long?? Anybody?? What were the rarest??

Meadows states that no accessories were purchased with the 1000 pistols. I don't know for sure whether Rock Island manufactured any.

The holsters were unique, so I can't imagine any tools made would not be marked. Because the holsters had no provision to carry a tool, chances of finding one, if they exist, may be remote.

Common sence, where did they come from? Why are they basically all the same? Somebody had to invent the first one. Why are they all basically the same much like a 'church key' Whats the rarest. Did the one that came with the 1900 test luger have a 'flaming bomb'? It is so perfectly engineered! Most have no idea hoe many purposes it has other than opening beer cans with no nails!!On the mean time, Il settle on my Kreeegy !
