Montana Wildlife
 

This part of Montana is a wildlife paradise. We have a herd of about 180 elk in a field one mile from the house. Been there off and on for a month.

We have had deer (mule and whitetail), elk, moose, Big Horn sheep, mountain lion, wolf,and coyote in our field. Geese fly over the house morning and night. Pheasants by the dozens, grouse and raccoons in our bird feeder, bald eagles in our trees. And a herd of buffalo half a mile from the house. What a place to live.

That is beautiful. We have a very, very small part of that here at gopher gulch maine. Deer(whitetail), Turkeys, tiny wolves(coyotes), beaver, muskrat. The moose are here and a neighbor kicked up a black bear this past summer. Fisher, Bobcats and lynx are amoung us. For over 50 years many, many unverifed reports of Mountain lions. Any large birds worth its feathers have gone to your country. Our ravens, crows and various hawks stay all year.

The only buffalo we have is "brunehilde", the farm wife next farm over. We do have an over population of yuppies in our small town. Also a to large population of wrinkle neck rednecks. One has to remember that Maine is at the eastern end of appalachia. So far they are still protected by Fish and Game wardens. Before I go I would love to see your great state. Bill, great photos of a wonderful part of the world. I also like nature and wild animals but we have not so much different here in Germany.
We have a colt and strong winter this year and here are some photos from the German wildlife.

Here in Virginia, I have actually had deer come up the stairs to the deck on the back of the house. It drives my 6 little dogs crazy when they see them through the door window... Sorry no pics available... they don't hang around long when the see us inside the house.
