Erma LA-22 went BOOM
Went shooting tonight and now wished I hadnâ??t. Was plinking with my LA-22, when I had what I can only guess was a double charged round was fired. No serious damage, but the extractor went flying to places unknown. I found a spring from inside, but that was it. So the question is where do I get another one? Any help is appreciated.

Try Tom Heller. Check Links and Resources or click on one of the messages posted by Tom H and send him a E mail.

Re: Erma LA-22 went BOOM
Doug, If Tom Heller does not have one you need there is one for sale on Gunbroker. $18.00 with no bids yet. Sounds pricey to me but then I don't need one. Jerry Burney

Re: Erma LA-22 went BOOM
Doug, try http://www.gun-parts.com/erma/index.html/ They have the extractor for $15.00. Their website is screwed up, it is double overlaid. Place the mouse cursor at the top left, hold down the left mouse button and pull the cousor down to highlite the entries, look close and you will find the extractor.

Thanks to all
![]() Herb, and everyone who helped. I think that I will be able to get the LA going soon. Did not know that parts supplier even existed!

Re: Erma LA-22 went BOOM
Hi Doug,
Be a little careful here. The ERMA LA 22 is not an especially well made pistol nor are the materials it is made from very sturdy. Itâ??s much more likely the problem was a striker that fell before the action was closed than an over-charged .22 LR cartridge. Be sure to completely diagnose the problem and replace *all* the parts that need replacement before shooting this one again. Best regards, Kyrie |
Re: Erma LA-22 went BOOM
exactly what i was thinking too kyrie...or possibly set the shell off while chambering.....chances of a double charge .22 are really slim......do remember a recall posted in the american rifleman while back tho, just dont remember what make
