DWM, 1917, Police
 

Have not had much to write about lately, so here goes. For me, it's been quite a dry spell acquiring another Luger for the collection. Well, took care of that at a show this past weekend.

DWM, 1917 dated, serial number 8947c, barrel guage 8.83, matching except for magazine. Has sear safety and magazine safety is removed. Front grip strap Police marked P.V.M.54. This is my second P.V.M. marked pistol, the other is a 7.65 Ortgies.

Came with a holster, loading tool and spare magazine. Although none of these items are correct to the era of police use. Holster is E.K.St. (Erhardt & Kirsten I believe) WaA101 1940. Belt loops replaced, and on flap stamped...gott mit uns deutschland 1944. Also from the four holes on back, this is perhaps one of the Norwegian holsters modified to accept US GI hanger?


I found that it is interesting that the breechblock/front toggle pin is marked 0.05m/m. Indicating an oversize replacement?

Francis, Nice pistol ! I have a 1917 DWM police ser. # 2677e . The date above the chamber on mine was removed, I am wondering if yours was also ? I was at a show also this past weekend, nice find ! Cheers, Andrew

Did ya find it at the fairgrounds show? I saw a VoPo s/42 for 750.00 , but it was import stamped to death on the frame flat :mad:
