1908 reblued navy commercial
Just wanted to send a pic of the crown M's on this one.
It has been rebarreled and buffed and reblued, but darn it, I think those old naval marks are correct! Has been in a private collection for decades. Serial # 2418 b. http://i54.tinypic.com/2ngsopg.jpg |
Hi Anna, Thanks for posting pics of your 1908 Navy. I've added it to the Navy List. Regards, Norm

Thanks Norme.
It is correct although mutilated, no? The rest of the #s, minus mag and of course the unnumbered barrel, match on this one. And sorry about hosting off site, I tried 5 times to upload here and got timed out every time. |
Hi Anna, Apart from the replaced barrel and the refinish, your gun looks legit to me. Regard, Norm

I'm only seeing one photo and can not see the buff/reblue...

The edges and the "island" on the sideplate show rounding and deformity in person.
Also there is blue in some pits and scratches, but I sure wish I was wrong about this one! http://i53.tinypic.com/345h6xv.jpg |

Hi Anna, The chamber area on your gun sure looks like it has been reblued. If you look at the receiver rails you'll know for sure - they should be "in the white". Regards, Norm

Anna,
How do you arrive at this being a commercial? --Dwight |
My mistake, I sure should know better, what with the Crown M's and the letter suffix on the serial.
I posted quickly, as it was in the spot with the Less Fortunate Lugers, totally stumbled across it while digging for a shooter. Was going by the old list that came with the guns, fraught with errors. It was late, I was tired, had a stroke in April...the excuses can go on forever if I let them. My boo-boo, sorry. |
Navy Barrels
Hi,
I have what I think is Navy 6in barrel. It is unmarked. However there is a small flat area on the flange in line with the front sight. Is it possible for one of you to post a pic of the top of the pistol. Is this flat normal feature? This is not a turned down artillery barrel. Aldo35 |
