No Lanyard Loop?
I have a 1916 DWM with no lanyard loop. It looks like pins have been driven in where the loop should be, and under a flashlight beem the pins look to have the same patina as the metal around them. I Dont have a camera,so pictures are out for now. This is my first Luger so I am a total Noob.I bought this one to shoot, All numbers match on the gun(not the mag.)ser.#1777 . Any idea why anyone would remove it?

The pins are actually the remains of the lanyard loop...someone just cut it off flush. Perhaps the loop was damaged or a former owner just wanted to "customize" the gun.

Thanks for the reply I never thought about damage, who ever did this did a realy good job its almost invisable. So much to learn about Lugers I just never gave them much thought untill I found this one three days ago this could be a lot of fun!
