1916 DWM S/N Suufix question
1 Attachment(s)
I have a 1916 DWM with a S/N 6104 and a suffix I believe to be an "a".
I earlier thought it was a "d" suffix but upon closer examination think it is an "a". Picture attached Comments please and Thank You for them !!! |
Why do you now think it is an 'a'? I'd call it a 'd'. Both were used that year.

If you go to the Technical Section / Suffixes and look at the a & d the suffix on my Luger looks like it could be either.
The part of the suffix on the upper right does not go very far up making it look like it could be an a (in my opinion). |
I'd call it a "d." How does it look on the underside of the barrel s/n?
|
looks like a d to me also, the 'a' did not have a line going up.

It is a "d"

OK guys,
I will go with a "d" The reason I am having a problem with it is that the leg going up does not go very far and the example in the Technical Information / Suffixes shows it more vertical. Should the suffix be stamped anywhere other than under the barrel forward of the trigger guard ? |
If Ron Wood say its a d, then it is a d.
