Modified Police Holster
![]() Here's a look at the holster my double date came in. It has been modified from a buckle style. You can see the old holes from where the original strap was. Not sure who did this. Could it be period? Has anyone seen one like this before?
Bob P.S.Also came with a tool marked with a shield/W. http://www.public.asu.edu/~bpz357/wholster.jpg |

BTW, there are no marking on this holster. I take it that it was made for commerical sales?

Re: Modified Police Holster
Hi Bob,
It appears that you have a Weimar-period military to police conversion holster. There were literally thousands of such conversions made as a defeated Germany could not afford even new leather for the newly sanctioned police forces. I personally think Weimar guns and holsters, with their myriad marks and attributions add a *lot* of personality and history to our hobby. Hope this helps, Tom |
Re: Modified Police Holster
AZ Bob, I have a similarly modified 1941 WaAed holster. Military to Police.
