Hi Fred, If you really want to liven things up you should post pictures of a Russian or a Spandau, Swiss Lugers are soo tame. Regards, Norm
P.S. They look very nice, though. |

Hi Ron,
What are those appendages on the front sights? Are they some sort of muzzle/bore protection device? Thanks Vince BTW. Very, very nice. |
For you Swiss-luger-loving guys:
The full list of Swiss parts suppliers for the Swiss 06/29 will be revealed in our book 'The Parabellum Is Back - 1945 2000'. This will include the suppliers of the tools and the magazines. And yes, Paillard, was one of them :) |
Vince, What are those appendages on the front sights? Are they some sort of muzzle/bore protection device?
Yes, Exactly what they are. They are a stamped sheet metal bore cover that attaches thru a spring action to the sight that covers the bore. Very rare. I only know of Swiss ones. I don't think any other country made or used them. Jerry Burney |
and, who is our best sheet metal guy???
whip up some bore-covers...i'll take some...............

Doc, That's a beauty!
I actually looked into making some. The would cost .50 cents each after buying the first one for $5000 Jerry Burney |

Here's some more Swiss stuff.
This poor gun was used for the analysis of the Swiss gauges and the Swiss Parabellum vs. Mauser Parabellum comparisons we did. |
Ron, what is in/ over the end of the three lugers in the middle of the first picture you posted on the wooden stands?
|
Taylor,
They are muzzle protectors that I have only seen on Swiss Lugers. They were made by the Swiss firm "Luthy". If you look back through the previous posts in this thread you will see that this question was asked and answered a couple of times.:) |
Gentlemen, beautiful examples of Swiss Lugers. Thank you for posting the picts and enhancing my ongoing education here on this forum..
|
Outstanding! I want a 1900 Swiss something awful!
|
Unfortunately "something awful" is probably what you will have to pay for it. But keep looking!
P.S. Did you notice that the 1900 Swiss I posted is a "wide trigger"? |
