I have bought the holster. I found no waffenamt. In your opinion is it fake or may it be original; if original have you already seen military holsters without acceptance marks?
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely
Giorni

This holster is a poor reproduction! Fake as John Kerry's purple hearts.

Reproduction. Without any doubt whatsoever.

Here is a another one, although it looks like it went through the washing machine, had an oil change and was used as a chew toy by generations of dogs with a spit problem :)

What are the obvious issues that make it certain that these are reproductions?

The stitching, angle and length of the closure strap for one. I didn't have to go any farther than that.

Fake at first sight!..........

Also the fact that the leather looks like it just came off the cow and can probably still moo...

Marc, The trick is to do your homework. Compare this repro to a known original. Look at the details. The differences will jump out at you. Stitching patterns and quality. Look at the shape of the buckle at the corners..and the tongue. All tiny but important details.

I have written reams on how to detect a fake holster on this and Jan Stills Forum. Do a search. Some interesting threads will pop up.

Doug, Steve and Jerry,

Thanks for the feedback on this. I have four holsters that I believe are original, and one new reproduction for reference. It's much more obvious with the holsters I have in hand than what I often see in pictures.

Jerry, I do appreciate what you've done to post information in this area!

Marc
