repo hoster for paratroopers

As always - buy the product, not the story. Interesting none the less.

Megaseltenes Zubehörteil für die legendäre P 08 Luger.

Extremely rare accessory for the legendary P08 Luger,

Wehrmacht Repro Pistolentasche für Fallschirmjäger der Wehrmacht.

Reproduction military holster for paratroopers

Die Konstruktion der Tasche u. die Technik der 08 Pistole erlaubt das mit der im Holster befindlichen Waffe geschossen werden kann. Am Hülsenauswurf u. im Bereich des Kniegelenk ist die Waffe frei.

The construction of the holster allows the P08 to be fired while still in the holster and the toggle is able to eject the shell case

Wir kannten das Holster bis Anfang des Jahres auch nur aus der Literatur.

We have only seen this design earlier only in books.

Anfang des Jahres hatten wir die einmalige Gelegenheit ein original Exponat aus einem kleinen Französischen Museum bei Caen in der Normandie einzutauschen.

Earlier this year we were allowed the one time opportunity to obtain an original example from a small museum near Caen in Normandy.

Nach diesem Teil wurde nun diese absolut 100% identische Kopie erstellt !!!!!

From the original we are able to provide a 100% identical copy.

Boy I'd sure like to see a Luger eject and load a new round upon firing from that rig!!

RK, you don't post on the forum near as much as you should! Nice to hear from you.

Thanks for the interesting photo and translation...

Yeah, the Luger could be fired ONCE, but not with any reliability for more than one shot...

...and if you were a paratrooper, and needed your pistol fast, how would you like to have to get that belt buckle undone and get your pistol out in a hurry because of a firefight?

As the famous U.S. Border Patrolman, and author, Bill Jordan used to say... "There is no second place winner in a gunfight."

An interesting carrying design for perhaps attachment to a backpack, but likely just a use by a leather cobbler with a buckle/belt for which he had no other purpose... Looks like he wrapped it around a Luger and had an idea... a bad idea.

Just my $0.02

Good to hear from you too, John and thanks for the kind words but I'm sure many sincerely wish my sparseness in comments remains a constant. As always, I've been much more of a shooter than a collector. Still have the 1918 Erfurt Ted restored for me and just picked up a non matching 1916 DWM. They both shoot great and always get attention when I bring them to the range. Truth is everyone else shoots them more than I do. Always brings a smile.

Uh, if it's a paratrooper, and it's holstered, and he wants to fire it...He could only fire it at somebody directly below him...Like when he's landing...

...Or he could shoot his foot...

These have been discussed previously. They are Spanish issue.

That might explain why Spain hasn't won a war in a number of centuries... :D
