1939 Shooter
4 Attachment(s)
Just bought a 1939 Mauser shooter. Paid 201 euro +19 euro shipping for it. It is a bit of a Frankenstein gun but for that price what the hey.
As you can see it has VoPo grips, a different side plate, and was rebarreled by the East Germans. Also it has a DWM marked toggel. In all I'm happy with it and it will be a canidate for a restoration when ever I get the time. |
wow..
well my figures put that at about $280.00 USD? I'll buy em all day at that! congrats!

Even 20 years ago when these were still available for quantity purchase at around this price, they were retailing for around $500. I can tell that this one was sold in Germany, by the peened out acceptance proof on the right receiver, which blends in well with the pitting present. When these first hit the German retail market, all Franconia was stocking was WW1 PO8s. TH

Nice gun for a very nice price.
I would keep it as it is. The VoPo is being recognized as a proper variation by collectors nowadays and it will never be anything else anyway. Preserve it in it's current state as a nice example of a VoPo P08. |
