HI ED, Erics technical question??

Often I post an issue and like to reference where it is discussed. It took me 5 years to be able to post photographs and is the procedure the same on both sites? Thank You Uncle ED!

Yes, primarily by luck, and what is considered the best software out there.

A few improvements actually on this site, John has made it easier to post much larger pictures, it self shrinks them here.

The picture shown was 1.92 megabytes; this trick will not work on Jan's forum, as John did some special software changes (he is a genius when it comes to computers, seriously)

HOWEVER, keep in mind that the forums EACH require logging on and you must be a member. There are many, many folks who are NOT members on both forums.

Tks I need to know how to include post access to a site like You do above 'http://www.simpsonlugers.com' all you need and it brings you there.

Edward Tinker 08-18-2010 01:34 PM

You mean how to have you have your own signature line?

Too hard for me to write it

Write me or here what you want and I will include it in both of your forum ID's

No say Simpson is selling your book, i want to include the exact address to that exact page taking my there, Hit the exact site and page, You did it yourself!!! Started out with "HTTP..............."

Edward Tinker 08-18-2010 02:13 PM

Links to dealer sites are not allowed.

I get away with it on gunboards because Simpson's is a sponsor and on this board because John has allowed it for me.

OK Thank You! What about non dealer sites like a reference cite?

Edward Tinker 08-18-2010 02:28 PM

sure, referance sites are okay

This is the web address for Jan Still's site. If you click on the link, it will take you there:

Eric,
How I did it to follow.

cirelaw 08-18-2010 09:41 PM

Thank You but I'm trying to post a reply containing Jan or so other address, I can't post any adddress!

Jack Lawman 08-18-2010 09:45 PM

Inserting Hyperlinks

First, highlight the web address you wish to link, right click it with your mouse, then hit "copy".

http://forum.lugerforum.com/attachme...2&d=1282178342

Then hit the "reply to thread" button, click on the "hyperlink" button (picture of earth w/ paperclip), right click on blue text field that says "http:", then click on "paste". This will insert the address you wish to link to into your reply in clickable form.

http://forum.lugerforum.com/attachme...3&d=1282178342

Craft your response around the link code, and hit reply. I hope this is the answer you were looking for.

Hyperlinking

I originally put screen capture images of what to do in my post. They have somehow disappeared. With the images, it is easier to understand.

I believe Eric's request was how to hyperlink an ongoing discussion (on this forum or any other) into a new thread on the Lugerforum. I believe he's interested in more than just a one shot link that someone can do for him (I could be wrong).

You know the old argument... "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day... Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime."

I "think" that he just can't post url's.

and I am not sure if in his signature or any line.

One issue, which I have told him, is no longer put "this" around url's / thats old school, you used to do it like that, but no longer....

Hey Don,
That's how I look on the inside!

Here's a more current view of the outside*:
