Rebarrel or reline?

I've got a s/42 VOPO shooter with very worn rifling....I'd kinda rather keep the barrel thats on it, if it could be relined succesfully and shoot as well as a replacement barrel....there's a guy in SGN that advertises relining.....any feedback from those who may have gone this route?

Have you shot it yet? I've had some pretty bad rifling shoot pretty durn well.

FNorm offers good advice. I have had Lugers with barrels that looked like a length of old sewer pipe but grouped shots very well.

ummm....

yeah I've shot it quite a bit....I'd say 5inch groups off a rest at 25 yds says it's toast!! ( my Hi-Power does 2")

You could also consider getting a spare barrel/receiver combo for shooting.

This way you can keep the original barrel/receiver safe and still shoot it.

Look at the front of the barrel, if there are pits or damage all you might need is to reface the barrel, pretty cheap to do.

Shooting slightly heaver bullets often helps with worn rifling.
