The H in Unit Mark?

I recently acquired a 1911 Erfurt Luger with the following unit mark, "9.A.F.III.8.H.10".

Using Jan Still's "Imperial Lugers" I translate the unit mark into "The 9th Foot Artillery Regiment, 3rd Army Ciops, 8th Battery, H, Weapon No. 10".

Still's only listing for H is Husar (hussars, cavalry). Could this be correct for a Foot Artillery Regiment? Could horses and cavalry been used to move artillery weapons?

I would appreciate an comments or advice regarding what the H is.

9th Fussartillerie-Regiment, III Bataillons, Haubitze (schwere), Waffe Nr.10. I'm taking a guess on the heavy howitzer interbretation but I think that is what it indicates.

George: What does the "8" signify? Could it be the Battery No, as in 8th Houbitze Batterie?

Probably Company as it refers to a munitions colmun.

"I am confused about the munitions column reference."

Me too.

I would translate it as 9th Foot Artillery Regiment, 3rd Battalion. Haubitze Battery 8. Weapon No. 10

Geo, what am I missing?

I think it means: 9th Foot Artillery Regiment, 3rd Battailion, 8. Haubitze, Weapon No. 10

Referring to Goertz and Wacker I interpret it as Fussartillerie-Regiment Nr. 9, Munitionskollonne Nr. 8 des III. Battaillons (Haubtzen), Waffe Nr. 10.

It is a pity with this entry in Goertz book because it is simply wrong. According the stamping order dated 1909 all ammunition units used the abbreviation M for the German word Munition.
