DWM, 1908 Commercial
5 Attachment(s)
Here's a Luger variation that I have always thought a classic.
DWM, 1908 Commercial, serial 42274, B, U / B, U, G proofed, unmarked magazine. |
Francis, Gotta love those early guns! Really nice example of an early commercial. Thanks, Jerry
Burney |
Francis, take the magazine out and with a good light look at the bottum rear of the magazine well and tell us what you see.
|
Wow Francis! That's Purty...
A classic to be sure. |
Gentlemen thank you, George it is stamped Prv. Is that good or bad and the significance, inquiring minds want to know? :)
I'd like to know how the heck they stamped that in there so clearly? |
I looked at my 1908 Commercial. I see no such markings. What does this mean?
Thanks. Doug |
I have only encountered the "Prv" marking on BUG proofed early '08 commercials never on the later Crown/N guns. A number of other collectors and I believe the marking indicates "Privat" or private (purchase) and was likely stamped on guns that were sold to officers through the army.
