My y-block byf41 chance

Have a chance to buy this one which is matched, and was someones shooter... yikes. The owner has died and the gun collection is now with a guy at work. All of the guns are newer production except for this y-block.

My question is centered on the grips... I too am looking for a an opinion on the originality of the grips. From the fitting, I suspect repop, yet I have never had a BW in my hands before.

I look forward to your comments...

The grips pass my inspection as well. They have had a little rough handling, but IMHO they are genuine.

Thanks for the positive nod on the period grips...
I will most likely acquired.

Now, to move on to the mag... Next question to be resolved is the unnumbered mag, with aluminum plug. On my first glance I saw an odd mag that was unnumbered, fxo made, E/37, with a pretty good radius to the mag plug. I first thought it was just unnumbered...

On my second look, I see some striations suggesting this may have been scrubbed. Also, not sure if important, but there is an 'a' on the sheet metal tube on the spine (near the bottom) which itself is period.

Any chance this mag is correct for this '41 Mauser?

Thx in advance...

Looks like you are correct on the serial number being removed. I would suspect it didn't match so no number looked better. From what I can find the mag could be correct for a 41.

I concur with Bill Lyons Correct period magazine, but the number on it has been removed. Regardless, these are GREAT magazines... possible the finest pistol magazine ever manufactured. They are built like a tank, and always come up shooting due to their extruded steel shell.
