Another P.08 gauge to worry about...

Hello to you all !
In an old thread I sent some pictures of very nice P.08 headspace gauges. The problem was if they were original or fakes. Some days ago I got another P.08 headspace gauge. This time it is marked Erma, and it is a "N" (normal) go-gauge. As you can see has all proper markings, including correct item code and "Reichsheer" . No WaffenAmt, but an old styled eagle (sorry no picture) on the flat top of the gauge. If it is a fake it is very finely made: a masterpiece. But the question is: is it original ?
I would be very pleased to know your opinion... Thanks
Fausto

I wish I could offer you a valid opinion, but I have no background in these gauges, I think Vlim or perhaps Mauro might be a reference for this... It looks really nice and I hope for your sake it is genuine.

Thanks John,
that's very kind of you. Hope that Vlim or Mauro will tell what they think about. I know that they deal with these gauges... Regards
Fausto

I'm afraid I'm not of much help.

The problem is that these gauges are so easy to fake (and they are), that it is difficult to tell the real thing from the fake (or boosted DDR or other post war gauge).

Many of them were found in a lot of WW2 gun smiths kits that surfaced a couple of years ago, others came from DDR storage and had WW2 markings added.

I have seen a number of boosted Erma tools that I think came from the bankruptcy of Erma in the 1990s as well. A very difficult subject, this.

All gauges of the Third Reich time should have an acceptance mark (and traces of patina). All these gauges of the Imperial time have also a crowned acceptance mark AND the RC- stamp.
I think this one was made in our days.

I found a lot of older photos of my gauges. Here are two of them:

Thanks to you all !
I was almost certain that this gauge is a fake: "too" new to be original and strange markings on it...But I wanted to know your opinion, or if you had seen others like this... Thanks again!

Hello Klaus !
I found these pictures of some gauges I got from a German ebayer some years ago. I'm still convinced that they are very finely made fakes, but I would like to know your opinion, as I guess that you know better than me these nice tools. Thanks a lot ! Btw, would you post some pictures of your original gauges? This would be a useful reference...
