Holster + lanyard on egun
 

I saw this holster + lanyard for sale on the web. (Two different auctions). Is this an original police holster? There are no markings except a number on the holster. ):confused:

PS: Is it normal that this holster has no tool-pouch ?

Original Police holsters have the leather closure tab facing upwards, not downwards and the absence of a loading tool pouch is also of concern. This looks like a private or civilian manufacture.

The lanyard looks good.

Andy, This type holster has been an inigma to me for some years. They are very well made but I suspect they are post war. They are not made exactly like a pre 1945 holster for sure. I have never seen one of these with a tool pouch.

Like Alinint says..the lanyard looks period authentic. It is not made in the normal way but has rivets and a twisted wire swivel. The round leather cord is also flat spliced & sewn rather than woven. I believe it is earlier than the brass swivel types.
