Luger "1918 Erfurt" shooter
7 Attachment(s)
1st post and 1st Luger. You have a great forum here, I have been looking to get a "shooter" luger and your forum has helped me out greatly. I picked it up today and negotiated a fair value. I would have like to get it for a bit less but It's my first one and I wanted it. I knows its a reworked/refinished Luger and the mag does not match. I believe the hoslster is probably a reproduction. But again I am happy and cant wait to shoot it. I will be looking for my collector now.
I paid $550 Thanks all!. Here are a copy of photos, hope the quality is ok |
Looks to me like you done good. Salvage value is way over that price.
Have fun! |
You did great! The holster is original and looks pretty good. Aside from the mag, do the rest of the numbers match?
|
Hi Kevin,
Your holster is unit marked to the Reichswehr 2nd Squadron / Reiter (Cavalry) Regt.7 weapon #17(?) "1394" is possibly a rack or armory number. You've got a nice shooter for a very decent price, also. Ron |
Yes all the numbers match except mag, and I think the barrel has been replace....no #'s on barrel just "made in germany".
great news on the hoslter! thanks! Kevin |
Very nice shooter and neat old holster. You got a good deal.

Holster Value?
Can anyone give me a value on the holster? and how should I care for it? Is it better to leave them alone or condition them with a quality leather conditioner?
Thanks, Kevin |
Kevin, Congratulations..As the other Members have indicated... you did well. I would value your holster at $250-300. It looks to be in good solid condition. It is a WW1 era holster and is approaching 100 years old. It is a valued collectable artifact and I suggest you do not put your pistol in it. Get a soft gun rug for your pistol. Certainly don't wear it with the pistol in it. The belt loops will not stand much stress.
It looks smooth and is not cracked or flaking. I wouldn't put anything on it. Store it in a dark dry place with nothing to crush it. Maybe gently fill it with a couple of plastic grocery bags. Don't stuff it..the linen thread these were made with is a plant fiber and can easily tear out. Shoot your pistol often if you can. Jerry Burney |
very good... the pistol and holster.
