My cheep 1915 DMW Luger
Just picked up this beauty today for 150 euro (200 US). I know it is a little rough but all it needs is some love. Still there is $200 worth of parts on it. Everything is matching but the magazine. The magazine # is 5491 a with Kaiser proof stamps. I am debating what I am going to do with it, I had actually bought it for the magazine and the grips. For now it will rest in the safe.

Yikes! Ron, Was that ground dug? Beautiful mag. The kind I like to find!
Jerry Burney |
The guy I bought it from has several guns that he has dug up here in Germany. He said that was his hobby as a kid. I plan to go out and do a little metal detecting this summer, Hope I can find more than pop tops.

Ron,
If the hold-back latch and spring are usable I would be interested in buying them from you. Thanks, Don |
Don,
I'm planning to attemt to restore this on. I live in Germany and a local master gunsmith said he would show me how on this one. If things don't go well I'll mail you. |
Ron,
I would love to buy the latch but I hope for your sake you can get the Luger to "shooter" status. Metal Detecting in Germany for war relics would be so much fun. Hope you find some good stuff !! God's Speed, Don |
hey, that is a nice camouflage job....

Bet THOR could make it look brand new! If it were in the States that is. Love metal detecting.

Metal detecting in Germany is fun and sometimes exciting. A friend of mine found some potato mashers once, which was a little too exciting for him, but still better than finding a land mine. I tend to find old beer cans and pop tops, the same friend as found an old 17th cenury dagger, old coins and a flintlock.

The last two bases I worked at VandenbergAFB (formerly Camp Cook) and Camp Roberts CA won't allow metal detecting due to all the unexploded ordance from WWII and the Korean War.
