unknown mark

Dear Experts
Does anyone know what the 5th (rightmost) mark on this Imperial luger is? I have never seen more than 3 inspector marks and one eagle(?) Thanks, Jeff |
Are there any other odd marks on the gun? What are the marks on the barrel? Can you post a much closer-up and sharper picture of the marking?

It seems to be a DWM 1913 with late a or b suffix. They usually do not have a 5. marking. Is it possible that it is a deeper pit?

I tried enhancing the photo...

It almost looks like an elaborate, Nazi era eagle over swastika and a multiple letter or number code below the eagle

This is as large as I could make it, and still be legible. Possibly a Heerszeugamt(rework mark) of some kind.

can someone do an interneg----a reverse neg to reverse
the light to dark and dark to light.....might yield a better version.......
|
Ron, I agree that this is most likely a Nazi era Army depot rework marking. These are normally placed to the left of the original WW1 markings, but in this case, there appears to have been enough room to place it on the right. TH

I have seen them underneath the original acceptance markings and I think once or twice to the right.
