Putting the mount on the unmovable frame is a nice touch...I'm not really keen on having the rear lens right where gas and brass are flying around...and the workmanship is about on a level with a 12 year old...but I'd agree, it is different... :p

It absolutely wonderous what can be done with a hand drill and some sheet metal screws. When two will work, five is better. Personally, I prefer duct tape.

it sold for $558... at least somebody got a good parts gun perhaps.

I wonder how long that scope stays in alignment considering the Luger ejects almost straight up.

I was going to say that sounds like an good buy for one of us who only want an arty, whether matching or not, and condition not terribly important (leveraged against price)...until I read *all* the description... :(

Description: Serial no. 4768, 9mm cal., 8" barrel, "Erfurt" and crown motif on toggle link, left side of barrel with "Bohler" marking, blued finish, checkered walnut grips. With M8-2x Leupold scope on mount screwed to frame.

Condition: Fair to good, as refinished. Gray patina with pitting. Grips are worn. Missing front sight. Bore is bright. Scope is fine. Attachment is mount of amateur quality.

Erfurt toggle is a plus (to me); Bohler barrel means it's *not* an arty...no arty sight...and after a close look at the rear toggle, I can make out the 4"bbl rear sight...

And the auction shows the other side, where the mount is again screwed to the frame rails...

(You have to wonder what size screws this dude used...and what pitch...not much meat on those rails...)

Now if it was me that won it (and yes, I would have bid), I do have a 4" bbl to put on it, and I have screws that would plug the holes after I threw that mount away...and that scope (if still intact) would have gone on an AR-15 of mine...so for $558, I would have called it a good deal...

I'm pretty sure it went to someone who has the skills to put it right...(just not me!)...

One question - the auction has a note - "*Price includes BP"...what's BP??? :confused:

BP means buyers premium. Its what the auction house charges the winning bidder. I think Greg Martin is 15 to 17%

Astonished. Even this one comes with "buyer's premium"?! It's obviously not a premium piece. Tons of people modify guns for fun. Probably less than 1% of those modification is creative and interesting. 99%+ are more or less like this one, ugly and boring.

[Edit] If modifier is a fan of karaoke, I won't feel surprised.

A closer look indicates it is not an Arty. I see a hint of a back sight blade on the rear of the toggle and there is no typical swelling of the barrel diameter where the back sight should be on the barrel.
Just a long rebarreled junker?
