EBay WW2 Holster- Real?
8 Attachment(s)
Hi Holster fundi's
I live in South Africa and recently acquired a WW2 luger holster on Ebay for $200 for my 1914 Luger pistol. Before I purchased it, I enquired from the seller (apparently a well respected EBay seller - Ralph McLeod) to confirm its authenticity to which he replied "I've been dealing in these things for about 40 years so I know what I'm talking about!" or words to that effect. NB: There are NO legible markings on this holster except for some red ink or something on the inside of the top flap! The holster also has a strange odor which I can't identify and has had some work done to the straps on the rear! Ralph says it had a grease covered Walther P38 in it for some time. Please comment on these pics which are the ones posted by him as I am anxious that I may have bought a copy. Thanks in advance Rod  |
It looks ok to me as a period holster but not the condition I would expect for $200

I concur... this holster appears genuine, but the condition is much less than I would have expected for a price of $200.
Sorry to be the bearer of even partially sad news... but you overpaid for this item. Welcome to the Lugerforum. I hope you find your visits here to be much more pleasant than this experience. |
Rod, Could you post a full shot of the rear of the holster?

WW2 Luger holster

Sure! It's not the best angle but includes some detail and also confirms what appears to be the WW2 design of the magazine pouch being sewn as an integral part of the rear piece as opposed to it being "stuck on" the edge of the pouch as in the WW1 holsters. Any ideas of what the red writing says? Thanks for the comments so far guys!

I think Jerry will ask for a better photo.

Sorry about the delay in posting pics. I don't have a digital camera so have used my mobile phone camera. Hope the quality is acceptable! The red paint/ink is inside the top flap but is not very legible.
Thanks again. Rod |
