What is this mag?
 

What is with the cut out on the mag on the left? Anyone know? The mags are being sold with this Arty.

Al, In short it's the ruination of what appears to be what was once a beautiful Imperial magazine. Certainly wasn't made that way.
The rod is a poorly made fake, the pistol is reblued and the oiler is a fantasy piece. The only nice looking part of this grouping is the unruined magazine.

Thanks Jerry. Wasnt sure on the mag as I am no expert. Were cleaning rods ever serialed to the pistol? The ad says it has a matching number to the pistol. It is also for sale with a stock and leather. He says the stock is real , but mentions that the leather is a "high quality" repro. $3450 asking. Extremely high up here in the GWN, and pretty sure its high for the US.

The blue lanyard must mean that the Luger was an Artillery air force issue.:evilgrin:

Were cleaning rods ever serialed to the pistol? Not on Imperial Artillery's. Some I have seen were Imperial marked on the steel spine with a Crown/letter.

The rod shown is a horrible fake anyway.

The stock appears to be good from what I can see of it. Hard to tell for sure without seeing the stock iron and the wood clearly.

Too many problems on this rig to command a price of over $3000 for me.

That oiler belongs to Yugo SKS or Yugo AK-47. Certainly without that eagle medallion glued to it.

The magazine seems to have been rendered inoperable intentionally for one reason or another. The blue 'could' be original, but the photo is not good enough to judge that. The pistol looks awfully dark and the edges of the receiver near the chamber look like they saw some buffing.

Let's hope the butchered magazine was not numbered to the pistol, although a donor magazine body can be found without much problems.

Would make a nice shooter though, for a shooter price, that is :)

I don't think the intention was to render the magazine inoperable. It looks like the follower will still travel freely.
What it does look like is this mag was adapted to work in something other than a luger. By doing so it is now useless for a Luger, as the placement of the new magazine catch hole would no longer secure the mag in a normal Luger frame.

Can the follower button be rotated into that notch? I've seen that someplace, somewhere, sometime.

The magazine catch has been machined away, so if this magazine is inserted into a P08, it will hang low (way too low).
