1863 single action .44
5 Attachment(s)
Here is an interesting piece for you Civil War guys.
I have this 1863 Starr 44 cal. single action. Serial #29342 I have been reading and so it is said that the guns 29300 range were all sent to Custers 7th Michingan Cav. It functions perfectly all the numbers match including the numbers on the inside of the grip straps. It is missing the correct take down screw in front of the hammer. But I will find one one of these days. |
On video, I saw how it loads: the operator poured black powder directly into the wheel hole, added a lead bullet, and then used "lever bar" to push the bullet in. He never showed how the wheel look like from the back. I assume the wheel hole did not go through.... but how does primer work on this ?

This is a percussion cap pistol.

Nice one.
I really love these black powder guns. Thanks for sharing. Douglas. |
Do a little more research, as "Custer" guns command a significant premium among collectors.

I will research ot some more I need to find a source to do this though.
