Try this out on Ebay!
Hey guys! One of the irritating things about searching on Ebay for luger stuff is that all sorts of wrestling junk etc. shows up to clutter our world. If you search by catagory you miss out on all the stuff someone puts in the wrong catagory. So I search for LUGER and I have found a way to exclude most of the things that would have no interest to us Luger nuts. I am a computer novice so many of you probably already know this but for those who do not, give it a try, I think you will be pleased not to have to sift through the chaff to get at the good luger stuff. I have listed most of the useless junk here.
luger,-lex,-prop,-airsoft,- mint,-wcw,-wrestling,-dragon,- replica,-repro,-cap,-charm,-water,-blank Put this into search and you will exclude all of these . Of course if you are interested in any of these simply leave it off the list and it will appear.Mint is one you may want to leave in but generally it only refers to replica holsters offered. Good luck, let me know how it works! Jerry Burney |
Re: Try this out on Ebay!
Jerry, it is nice to find out these cool tricks!!
Here are a few of mine: I have a "favorite" saved in My E-bay that does this for me, and it could send me an e-mail, but I don't do that. I use the advanced search and purposly exclude items that I don't want. I use the advanced, because I find it is easier, but my Dad uses the normal "search' at the start page, so it depends on what you are used to. Also, I use (luger, lugar) and catch items that joe-blow does not know how to search. {make sure you exclude wwf and you will get Senator (?) Lugar} but so few on him, I don't mind. In the advanced search, you will not need to put in the minus sign, just use the search page, which is here; http://pages.ebay.com/search/items/search.html Anyway, I use the (luger, lugar) as this willshow ALL items in the parantheses, so don't put luger, lugar, barrel, old), as it would show up 38,000 items! But you can go (luger, lugar) barrel and it will include both luger spellings and something with barrel. So, now I have made it easier for you to take my Luger items... Good, I like to share! Merry Christmas! Ed |
Re: Try this out on Ebay!
Ed, Thanks for the additional tips! It's not easy to take anything you bid on because I am a poor man...As one says, I only like to look. Jerry Burney

Re: Try this out on Ebay!
Me too, the poor and the looking!
I do like to see what is happening, and have found a few items that are nice. Found Kenyon's book for $25.00 a few months back. Ended in the early morning and put in a bid and got it! As my Dad always says, eventually almost anything you want, you'll find it at a sale, auction, on-line, etc., and for a good price! Ed |
Re: Try this out on Ebay!
Gawd, I love you guys. I can't wait to try it. I didn't think about Lugar and I didn't know about the minus signs.
Now what about GunBroker and AA? Big Norm |
Re: Try this out on Ebay!
I thought that E-bay did not sell guns. Where on, or how do I get to the gun section?

Re: Try this out on Ebay!
They don't, but they sell Luger accessories, like holsters, magazines, books! This trick cuts out all the Lex Luger wrestling stuff! Thor

Shhhhh, or he might run for political office...

Politician Lex
![]() Heck, if ol Lex ran he might win. He would be better than some of the ones that we have. Arm twisting and jaw boneing would take on new meanings.
