Another chance to see this top restoration

The world is so small. In 1980s, the rig was pictured on Erickson, it was then in original form. Back a few years ago, it appeared on a RIA premium session, described as restored, sold around $8K-$9K. A few months later, it's again for sale around $14K-$15K in midwest. The condition was unspecified, reference to Erickson was not mentioned either. Sold. Then, it varnished for a few years. Until now.....

This is a master piece of restoration. Before pictures are on Erickson page 36-37.

Who did the job was not revealed.

I can wait, in a few years it could be a Shelby Cobra......

Even more misleading, it's now described as original. There was a real letter from Holland & Holland saying the gun was sold via them a century ago. The letter was bundled in RIA session, after a few years, where did that H&H letter go ..... probably not pictured.

[Edit] Since before and after is not always readily available, and this one was done so nicely, I copied "before" picture here. How it looks in 1980s:

Very nice. I don't think I've ever seen a shoulder-stock with such a squared-off "Z"...(for want of a better term)...

Don't think is is as squared-off as it appears...I think it is more of an illusion created by the partition in the case.

Maybe it's just my eyes...I don't have a Mauser stock to compare it to... :(

The stock is Mauser wood and steel, but refurbished as well. The Z shape is illusion coming from the gun case. The stock was less well done than the gun. RIA appraisal said the only fault was C/C/U on left side of the chamber being erased a little bit at corner. Comparing "before" and "after" of right side of the gun, there are some other hints. After restoration, the gun finish becomes less balanced.

Hard to believe, but it's sold again at $14,500, or very close, this is not a seller that buyer can easily talk the price down.
