P38 DATA WANTED:

Because most P08 collectors own a P38, or two [and the reverse is true, too] Please consider sharing your P.38 data with me? [guns, numbered mags, etc...including postwar P1-P38-P4-P5]

The info is confidential. If you wish, you can send it without identifying yourself ..[for those who think the BATF is looking over my shoulder!]

I have more than 18,600 entries on the data base. It is the only way we can confirm much of what happened as most of the records have been lost.

Over the years, I have been able to match several guns with the matching magazines! [right, Tom H. ?]

Re: CYQ

I'm pretty sure it is...because all my stuff here at the office in my C&R book has cyq44 Spreewerk. I'll check it when I get home....anything wrong with it?

Hi Ol'Duke,

Yes sir, â??fishyâ? is the word. Spreewerke didnâ??t date their P.38â??s :-(

Best regards,

Kyrie

CYQ

CYQ guns were NEVER dated...we don't know how they got away with it [It was a requirement]

Your gun was made in '44 but should not show a date on the slide...just the P.38--CYQ-----NUMBER--SUFFIX

Re: CYQ

Orv,

Sorry to get you excited....my fault in not telling the whole story..

It is not dated..when I put '44 date on my post, it was meant to indicate the date by the s/n. It has been a year since I touched that particular pistol, so, not being a real scholar on them, I wasn't sure, since my books indicated '44.

Sorry..

I'm more of a Russian SKS45 type of guy...plus I just love Nagant pistols as I have 28 of them now. I used to be able to afford them, but since their availablity has dried up, the market has caught up with them in price..the good old American way.

Again, sorry for the confusion.
