Double proofs on barrel 1918/1920

I have just acquired a 1918/1920 chamber marked DWM luger. The gun is in good condition with all matching numbers except for the mag. For some reason there are two (Weimer?)proofs on the barrel. Would anyone know why there would be two proofs? Would this be an indication that the gun was reworked by the Erfurt factory? There are no grip strap markings and the gun was not fitted with a sear safety, so I believe it would have been for military use.
As always will appreciate all input from the forum.
Thanks, barr.

I didn't quite get the photos right for the inquiry, so I have added them now.
Sorry, barr

no help here on the proofs, but curious about the barrel... is it the lighting, or are the sides of the barrel flat?

Eric, Your photo of the barrel proofs is not close enough to read them clearly. If one of them is E/6 or 33, this is probably a Simson barrel that was install during the post WW1 period during a rework. TH

Double proof marks on barrel.

Eric,
The barrel is round, the photo may appear to make it look flat.
Doc, the proof is the Imperial eagle used in the WWI period. Most of the lugers I have seen have the Imperial eagle on the rt. side of the barrel, some have it on the upper right, but they are usually placed back near the chamber. On this particular gun it has a second Imperial eagle midway up the barrel on top.
Just curious as I have not seen this before, perhaps it was a barrel change, but I don't know why they would have proofed it twice. Perhaps the barrel had issues on it's first proofing and was re-proofed after examination or correction.
The two imperial eagle proofs should be apparent in the upper photo of the barrel.
Thanks, barr.
