Shipping parts to Europe - what issues?
I have a gentleman from Czech Republic interested in purchasing a luger barrel from me. Are there any issues shipping it to him? Can I simply go to the Post Office and declare the item and sent it out?

I have had few problems shipping parts.
I did have trouble once shipping magazines to the Ukraine; and items were sent back..... Ed |
USPS information on prohibited and restricted items to Czech Republic. You should have him check at his end to verify that it can be brought into the country.

It depends on the local regulations. Over here, essential gun parts like barrels, toggles, frames and receivers must be accompanied by a customs permit, which is only provided to people who can prove they are allowed to own these items.
Most European countries require a customs permit of some sort. The receiver can apply for one locally and then transfer it to the seller. |
I already ordered and received many gun parts from USA, barrels and magazines included, without problem. I think you can export most gun parts, except frames.
The import question is the problem of the buyer who must verify his national legislation, this is his responsability at his own risk. Also, he must pay all extra costs if the package is sent back to the US seller, and cannot claim if the ordered items are stopped by the customs. christian |
