Gonna try some pics...

This pic is one of four Lugers that my Grandfather brought back from I think Africa...

Allright it worked... this one is one is a 30 Luger. The second pic is kinda blurry but it is the DWM stamp. On the right side it is stamped Germany, on the left side there is a crown with a N under it. Under the barrel the SN# is 65##, and all the parts are the right numbers except the clip is wooden end. From what I remeber my Grandpa telling me is these came back with him from some dead guys in Africa I think( he passed away before I really was interested in knowing). Now that I have figured the pics out, I will post at least 2 more Lugers, and they all have the same history with our family. I had a gunsmith look at these, and he said that he could tell that they spent most of there life in a holster, because of the wear externally, but the inside he said looks brand new. I don't think that he shot any of them ever, but not positive, I have shot 1 of the 30s, and one of the 9s. As I said before just kinda looking for alittle history, and approx pricing. Thanks Alot...-Joshua

And here are another two...the first is also a 30, with similar stampings, except, under the SN# it is stamped Germany, with the M under that, and the barrel is stamped the same. This one and the next one has consecutive SN#'s20#1, and 20#2. Thanks...-Joshua

And this one is a 9, it is stamped with 1915 on the top. There is a d stamped under the sn#, Germany is nowhere on this pistol, and there are alot of diffrent emblem stamps on it, (sorry my camera isn't good enough to get detailed closeups). I found these in a cupboard in holsters, that I imagine are original, the tools arent in the holsters, but there was a spare clip in each. The one is black, and is is stamped "C.HEINICHEN DRESDEN 1936", and beside that there is a stamp of what appears to be 2 tassels with "WaA142" under it. Thanks alot...-Joshua

if 30 luger (aka 7.65mm) with germany stamps; they would be exports to the USA and not bring backs (very unlikley ;))
Otherwise looks like nice guns. for valuation, need better pictures, need to know if completly matching (not magazine) etc. A rough value is $600-$800 for the 30 lugers and $700-$1200 for the military ones. Also depends on if there are holsters, tools, written provinance, extra magazines, etc. ed |
Thanks for the reply. I don't know the whole story, but I know that Grandpa said they came back with him from overseas, and if you knew my Grandpa, he would NOT spend money on these. Back to the question about the consecutive SN#s, is this just a coincidence, that the one stamped 1915 in 9mm, is 1 number off the 30 luger? I took all of them apart, and they are all the correct numbers, and like I had said before the holsters that they are in appear to be original, but no tool. Kinda prolly interested is trading one of the 30's off. A gunsmith that looked at these said that they have little to no rounds through them. I wish I had a better camera to take alittle better detailed pics of the stamps. Can anyone tell me approximately when they were built, and where they would have went?. Thanks...-Joshua

Regarding the consec. serial numbers, if these have a suffix letter under the serial # are they the same on both guns AND only one # off?
dju |
Nope, 1 is a "d", and the other is a "m"...Thanks-Joshua

S#2081d is German military 9mm, made in 1915.
S#2082m is a DWM Alphabet commercial 7.65mm, made late 1923 or early 1924. |
Thanks Alot... So I read the general info on the side, and I probably shouldn't shoot these huh? They still have alot of the "straw" on the correct places. Thanks...-Joshua

How about the 30, SN#6520 with either"k", or "r"...Thanks-Joshua
|
S#6520k - 1922
S#6520r - 1928 |
Thanks Alot...-Joshua
