An Italian helmet and a P38, not a P08 as the photo seller describes. North Africa, no doubt.

There is a reason personal cameras were usually verboten for Feldgrau!

The handwritten note in old German handwriting on the rear of the photo says:
"Must be fun!
(Assistent Comedian and Artist (circus performer)
Fred v. Budini)
Summer 1942"
Could be North Africa or South Russia, too.
Italian troops were in Russia, too. (Around Stalingrad and other places).

Yeah ,and note the SS buckle on the belt. And the german issue socks. Maybe he has a case full of liquor in his hand, He must be drunk to be walking around like that.

Got the first photo in today. Here's a higher quality scan, please do not use it for other publications without asking. May have plans with it :)

For those of you looking for a challenge. Count the number of lugers in the photo.
