need your opinon about this police luger
$ 850 seems not too bad for a shooter, what's the catch?

For the price, I don't think it the best buy for a shooter?

Hey Andy, I've only been collecting Lugers for 3 days, but with all the all matching stuff out there that can be had for $1500 or less why would you put the better part of a G-Note out for a bag of parts that fits together? I do know P38's & 1911A1's and what you are buying is history. With an all matching gun you know when it was made, where it was going, and can make a fair guess as to how it made it to the states. How cool is that? Rework in this case is a misuse of the term since there actually are arsenal "reworks" that also can have have some neat history to them. That looks more like the FrankenLuger that I've heard about. Being sold by someone who is hoping for the guy that thinks "any Luger must be worth $1000.00" You don't need to be that guy.

This is actually a very interesting Luger. From the pictures, only the toggle train is Erfurt. The receiver is c/B, c/U proofed, DWM dating from before 1912. The frame has a stock lug, which places it after 1914.
I'd be curious to get my hands on it to inspect, but not $850 worth of curious. --Dwight |
Thank you all, Gentlemen.

If you are looking, I have a decent police for sale on the trader board. David
