I was given this Luger by a customer of mine about 20 years ago. He owed me about $100 & I too the gun instead. How did I do ? Any information about it would be greatly appeciated also.

How did you do? I guess it depends on if you are ready to compute how much, with uninterrupted compounding interest, $100 would be worth after 20 years.
But money comes and goes. That is a very nice Luger that you can REALLY enjoy.
Ya' done good.
More pictures showing condition and markings will help the more knowledgable among us, as well as a review of matching vs. non-matching numbers. Holster? Spare mag?, etc.

$ 100 with compound interest for 20 years in apt to be something in the neighborhood of $225+. So you did really good in my opinion.

You have a 1941 byf. That's the code for Mauser, the German manufacturer from 1933-1942. It is a so-called 'Black Widow' because of the black plastic grips. It appears to be in very good to excellent condition, although the magazine is after market. It's a Mec-Gar made in Italy. Good mag though.

If all the internal numbers match, if it is the original finish, then depending on what geographical market you're in it would be worth 1500-2300. Give or take...

Thanks for the info. all the exterior numbers match. I will field strip it & see if internal numbers match. The gun is all I have, no spare magazines or holster. Not really sure about the finish. I will try to get better pix. Thanks again.
In new york on Long Island. Is this a good Market for this ? not that I am planning on parting with it.

it's a so-so market, with some items; higher end and folks who are looking for them, they have kept value, most lugers (and other guns), I beleive has lost 20% in value the last 1.5 yrs

Reblued?, I cannot find this reddish colour on barrel we like so much... this black is very dark. Perhaps a pic on other angle ... and the flash will discover.

Very nice gun!
