Marking like this on a luger

Have any of you ever seen a marking like this on a luger?

It is on a receiver, no other markings (date etc), and has a 9mm barrel, but the barrel has been added.

No, but a WAG popped into my mind as soon as I saw the non-germanic-looking "Ms". Might it be an early, pre-production Vickers receiver?

OK, that's all I got.

Lol, not even Vickers would do something this bad.

Someone cleary buffed off the original markings, then tried to recreate navy crown/M's by using his trusty set of letter dies. A nice bubba job.

Possibly off of a test gun of some type. The three O's have been struck out, and the Ms added. Maybe to designate that a new barrel has been attached, or to designate refurbishment, etc.?

Gerben,

Maybe it's an ultra rare Whizbecistan Navy Luger. Although the Whizbecistan Navy only had two rubber boats and a life preserver.

Oh..., and one Luger.

Ron, you're completely wrong. This is a valuable and rare American 3M prototype!! :jumper:

"This is a valuable and rare American 3M prototype!!"

Made entirely of Duct Tape.

Ed,

I think we've pretty well gutted your thread. I still think that it's possibly a test gun.

Ron
