Greetings,
Can anyone say definitively which Luger models (year) came with the magazine with the numbers stamped along the long axis as shown in the photo? |
Mike, I can not open your photo but the answer is the DWM military pistols up 'til mid or late 1911. If you want to trade it or sell it I would be a potential victim for you.
|
All the 50000 DWM Lugers of the first order got the large numbers. That stopped with the (last of the 50000) DWM 1911 with e suffix about 31. march 1911.
Reason for it seeems to be the Stempelvorschrift from 1910 (which was written more for the Lugers of the riflefactory Erfurt than for the DWM). Regards Klaus |
Greetings,
Many thanks for the information. Mike |
Mike, what is the number on your magazine?
|
The serial number on the mag is: 8367 no suffix.

Mike, I have a DWM #8677+ wood bottomed PO8 mag listed in the For Sale section. TH PS: It's numbered from left to right.
