Impact of mismatches on value?
Hi,
I have Mauser 1937 s/42 straw P-08 Luger in 9mm. That's probably a bit redundant but, I'm new. This pistol has all matching frame, barrel, and side plate. The toggle, including extractor and rear of sight, are all matching serial numbers from a different gun. The magazine is not serialized to the gun. I am wondering what percentage impact the mismatch has on the value of an otherwise mid 90's percent gun? Thanks, bob |
Unfortunately that little detail will place your gun in the shooter catagory for sure, unless it is otherwise a rare or special model.
I recently had an extremely nice, matched early DWM lower with an extremely nice early Erfurt upper. As beautiful as it was, the mismatched issue hurt its value. Hard to access % valuation loss, but I, with limited experience, would expect a 40% hit or so. Might not hurt to watch for matching parts. Just may be worth your time. DJU |
This page has a refined definition of gun condition based on NRA.
In this system, if this particular Luger works fine, it can be rated as "GOOD" (because of major replacement of parts). http://armchairgunshow.com/Condition...uns.htm#supica |
I was just glancing at thread titles and somehow read this one as "Impact of mustaches on value"...
Maybe it's time to get glasses. |
