Hollywood, Here I come!!

I went up to see a friend in Stuart, Florida who was on the tech staff filming a sequence for an upcoming Submarine Movie titled "Sea Viper-The Hunter Becomes The Hunted" about the Germans attempting to pass Nuclear secrets to the Japanese at the end of the European war.
My purpose was to lend my MP40, a Luger and a couple of P38s to the propertymaster for the film in exchange for hanging around and watching them work. It turns out the person who was to play a German Major did not show and I wound up with the small, speaking part!! I agreed as long as my son could participate. Great bonding experience. I had scrupples about wearing the uniform but justified it through the examples of actors I respect, who have doned these uniforms in the past for the sake of telling a story.
The uniform fit me pretty well but was hellishly uncomfortable in the South Florida heat.
Here is a still from the set.

Hi John,

No, unfortunately, no time to advise anybody. I was contacted last minute by my friend to provide the armaments as this is a very low budget production, (I doubt it will make more than art house theaters). We arrived on set at 6:30AM after a two + hour drive from the Miami area. The set was closed to outsiders at 7AM. We stood around in wool outfits for most of the day and did not "wrap' until almost 7PM.
All for maybe 2 minutes onscreen.
