Spandau Luger
1 Attachment(s)
Finally acquired the last I needed to have all the manufacturers. :) Had this in a display - thought I would share it. Don't laugh; it's probably as real as most if not all Spandaus. Happy collecting!

|
It's been reblued!!!!
(couln't resist!) |
Hmmmm......Number matching, I presume :p
|
<b*llsh*t mode on>
I am pretty sure this is a real one. All the fakes have an Erfurt crown and this crown is clearly different in style! Congratulations on finding one of the true holy grails in luger collecting :D <b*llsh*t mode off> |
Bill,
I believe it's the early variation, "Spamdau". |
Ron, thanks for the early morning laugh....
|
Actually it's an "Officers Model Spamdau " Ron, Thanks for clarifying this Model LMAO. Bill
|
Is this the "Air Service Officers Model" (LuftzOffizierSheizShutzen) Spandau in the aluminum frame?
|
Heinz,
Or a prototype Titanium frame? Ron |

Can't be. I have that one:
|
Gerben,
Looks like cam shaft out of a Mercedes Benz Rototiller? |
That was the strength of German engineering: One casting was used for several purposes: Gun frame, cam shaft, toilet handle, pet silencer, you name it and Spandau made it.
|
Isn't this the rare Blimp Captain's model. Made entirely of aluminum like the Zeppelins in order to save weight?
|
Hey Guys,
The BS is flying high this morning!! Thanks for the laughs. Bill, great photography!! :) |
Quote:
Beautiful gun Bill, yup looks like the Spandau I saw a number of years back. :) Ed |
Howz it shoot?
|
Bill,
I see this one has the rougher finish of the Govt. arsenal guns!! Mike:evilgrin: |
WOW!! It's been years since I've seen a gun totally fused together into one giant paper-weight. Congrats on that rare find.
