Aftermarket barrel? Don't know... guesstimation, it looks smaller than DWM.

A 1911 dated Luger would be a real prize. I have only seen one in person. It had a 1911 upper and a mismatched lower; price was $500.00. Sadly I passed on it to buy a nice matching 1914 model which took all I was carrying.

That's not a bad choice IMO. 1911 dated makes sense only when you have 1912, 1913, 1914, 1915.... so on and so forth, just missing a 1911, then paying premium to fill that hole (because it's rare).

If that's not the situation, 1911 and 1914 are the same. Missing both? and 1914 is nice & all matching... go to 1914.

Yeah 1911 is not a very common date on a Luger. The mark on that barrel is very interesting. It looks like a modern replacement barrel, but I do not recognize the mark. Does anyone know this marking?

It's a Finnish rework. The barrel is made by Tikka, typical of Finnish army reworks. Most Tikka barrels are 5", although "4 barrels do turn up now and then.

If it's a 1911 DWM, they turn up occaisionally. If it's an 1911 Erfurt, it's a first year production and much harder to find. Being a "Finn" it's value is deminished to around $1000-$1200 on average.

The Fin Tikka barrels are good quality, I have one in 5" and it is very good.

Also have one on a 1944 91/30 Mosin also very good.

If it had the longer Finnish Tikka barrel, and the stock lug, I might be tempted...

Up for auction is a Finnish P-08 Luger chambered in 9mm. This gun was posessed by Finland post World War I. The "SA" mark was stamped in 1941. This gun was originally a 30 caliber Luger but then was given a Tikka Barrel. The gun contains a unique date of 1911 as seen in the pictures.

Finnish loves making "mountain village edition" of guns :)

Yes, it is a "Tikkakoski" -barrel, not Tikka, please ;). I have one pistol with the 4 inch barrel.

Most of us are just too lazy to write out "Tikkakoski", so in typical American fashion we just shorten it to Tikka.:)
