.45 Luger
Is there any more information on the .45 Luger on Simpson's web site? I just took a quick look, and apparently that is not the Sidney Aberman .45 Luger that has been making the rounds and the only other known .45 is in the Norton Gallery in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pistol shows virtually no wear, and the left grip is not broken under the safety. Is that one of the Krause .45's?

Re: .45 Luger
Very well could be. I wonder if Simpson would respond to inquiries on this?
Did you notice the flecking of the blue on the grip safety? SteveM |
Re: .45 Luger
I saw something on the grip safety, but the photography was not great. Did you take a look at the '04 Navy? Someone needs to show them how to resize their photos. That picture was also very blurry.

I strongly believe that this is one of Mike Krause's reproductions
![]() John, Thanks for the detailed photo. The grip fit is truely incredible and for that matter the rest of the pistol is top notch too. I know a machinist that has done some work for Mike Krause and made me 4 front sight adjusters to old world specs for my collection. He is about 76 or so and has seen Mikes work up close. Says it is as good as turn of the century German work. Of course Mike uses many modern machines and techniques but as long as the product turns out like the photo you put up who cares? I just wish I had a spare 12 grand laying around. Could be a good investment.I liked your dream about crates of these showing up! Jerry Burney

As Long as we are dreaming.....I wish I had double that amount to blow, I would get a 32 and a 45. They are top notch pistols I have been told! ~Thor~

John,
There is also a photograph of the Sidney Aberman pistol in Kenyon's book, and the top of the grip safety on the Krause pistol is not like either of the originals. I believe the Norton .45 has a commercial proof on the left side of the receiver. |
