Help with "G" date purchase, please.
4 Attachment(s)
Hello all.
i have a chance to purchase a luger from a retired gentlman but i do not know much about them and do not want to spend $$ on a book for only one purchase. The Luger is a "G" date [ 1935 ] S/42 marked commercial version, i think. it is in over all good condition but is mis-matched. the frame number is - 234X no letter code. the receiver number is - 719X no letter code. on the right side are W154 & S92 the magazine is marked "Germany" and has no other markings. here are 4 photo's to help. sorry they are not to good but my camera does not have a macro setting. from what i have read on the auction sites it is worth around $500 to $600. any thoughts on value and condition will help. whats it worht??? how much should i offer??? thanks, Dave |
Dave, you are basically correct on the price range. Despite this being a "G" date, its mis-match mis-fortune calssifies it as a shooter. There was no such a thing as a "G" date commercial, in my opinion. This was the second year for Mauser military P08 production.

new question. the frame is marked with s/n 2341 but no letter code.
