Can you post more pictures? Need some of the top and all markings. Thanks.

It appears to be an Imperial Erfurt produced P08 that saw service in the Weimar Reichswehr. The markings (x'd out) on the rear of the frame are pre 1922 provisonal unit markings as directed by the Reichswehr.

The circled S on the left receiver is believed to indicate a Simson rework after WW1 of this PO8. I wouldn't call it a commerical, rather a Weimar rework of a WW1 Erfurt military luger. TH

Thanks lugerdoc. By the way I am from Saint Charles also.

Circle-S marked Lugers are the subject of ongoing research. Could you please post pictures of overall views of the gun and any other markings found on it? Particularly interesting would be the presence or absence of a sear and/or mag safety, and any grip strap marking.
thank you. --Dwight |
