heavy duty spring for higher loads?

I read about to exchange the regular mainspring of the luger for a heavy duty spring. This should help the luger to master the modern /nowaday ammo.
Is this recommended?
Thanks.

Nope.

Actually, modern day ammo is not as potent as WWII military ammo was. Unless you are having function problems, I would stay with the original.

Spring

Thank you all

As Hugh said, stay with the original. I would only change springs if you need a lighter one, for using lower pressure target loads. But few Lugers are used for competitive shooting anymore. Once they were.

Potomac, huh? For 25 years I owned a home in the Bannockburn area of Bethesda, 7 miles from the White House and just a couple miles from you...right there smack in the middle of radical anti-firearms whacko land, home of Handgun Control Inc. and the Mike Barnes crowd. :bigbye:

...beautiful area.

Hi Phil,
yes, a nice area. To have a NRA bumper sticker makes you an exotic guy here...

Hi:

Please provide some specifics, as I am always trying to uncover the facts of WWII ammo vs. Pre-War ammo.

Thanks!!

Sieger
